Learning Center (PA Homecare Association)
The Learning Center video library may be used as a tool to help meet competency requirements for professional caregivers under Pennsylvania's homecare agency/registry licensure regulation. Free, on-demand video courses on the topics that matter most for the work.
What's in the Learning Center
Short video courses covering the real situations you'll run into as a direct care staff member. The videos use real-life scenarios, computer graphics, and dramatizations to make the material stick. Topics include personal care, dementia, communication, body mechanics, infection control, and more.
What to complete
- Create an account or log in at the Learning Center (button below).
- Complete the videos under the DOH section and the OLTL section.
- Take the Direct Care Worker Competency Test.
- Email proof of completion and certificates to healthandhappinesshc@gmail.com.
Why these sections?
Pennsylvania homecare agency licensure regulations require direct care staff to maintain competency across a wide range of care topics. The DOH and OLTL sections, plus the Direct Care Worker Competency Test, are the core requirements.
Tips for getting through it
- Take notes. The material comes up in real client situations.
- If a video doesn't make sense, ask the office. We'd rather you ask than guess.
- Phones work, but a tablet or laptop makes it easier to focus.
Text or call the office.
